Peptide Stacking 101: Why CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin Works

What "stacking" means

A peptide stack is two or more peptides used in the same protocol. Sometimes they share a vial (a "blend"); sometimes they're injected separately at the same time. The point is that they hit complementary mechanisms — one hits the GHRH receptor, the other hits the GHRP/ghrelin receptor; one drives angiogenesis, the other drives cell migration; etc.

Why CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin is the canonical stack

The growth-hormone axis is bimodal:

  • GHRH receptor activation triggers GH release.
  • GHS-R (ghrelin) receptor activation amplifies GH release with the same pulse.

CJC-1295 (no DAC) is a GHRH analog with a 30-minute plasma half-life. It hits the first receptor. Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide GHS-R agonist with a 2-hour plasma half-life — it hits the second.

Co-administering both produces a GH pulse roughly 2× the size of either peptide alone, without the side effects of older GH secretagogues (hexarelin, GHRP-2/6) which spike cortisol and prolactin. The "GH pulse stack" — 100 mcg CJC + 200 mcg Ipa, nightly, on an empty stomach — is the most-cited protocol in the longevity and lean-mass research literature.

Our half-life visualizer overlays the two and lets you see the staggered decay.

Other canonical stacks

StackUse caseNotes
BPC-157 + TB-500Soft-tissue injury recoveryThe classic "Wolverine" stack — different repair mechanisms, complementary half-lives
GHK-Cu (topical) + Argireline / Matrixyl 3000Cosmetic / collagenThe home dermatologist's stack; works without injections
Selank + SemaxAnxiolytic + nootropicThe Russian stack; both intranasal
Tirzepatide + CagrilintideWeight loss (investigational)"CagriSema" — Phase 3 reported up to 22% weight loss

When stacking fails

  • Receptor desensitization. GHRP-class peptides desensitize quickly (especially hexarelin). Cycle 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off.
  • Pharmacokinetic mismatch. Stacking two peptides with very different half-lives via a single blend means you can't dose them independently later. Avoid blends until you know the protocol you want.
  • Cumulative side effects. A single peptide's side effects are usually mild; two stacked can compound. Start with one, add the second after 2 weeks of tolerance.

Building a stack from scratch

Our public stack library has six curated starting points (Wolverine Recovery, KLOW, GH Pulse, GLP-1 Tirzepatide, Longevity Base, Russian Cognitive). Each links to the half-life viz so you can see the combined coverage shape.
